We are thrilled to have one of our most popular teachers return with an all new necklace for fall. Robin Dudley-Howes is back teaching her Baby Doll Necklace featuring an antique German doll. Robin's fascination with these miniature dolls has led to yet another eclectic mixed media necklace contrasting vintage with contemporary.  In this project you will learn innovative wire shaping techniques, hammering, clasps, problem solving and sturdy wire construction with out using a torch! These techniques will elevate your future jewelry projects into new territory.  As always Robin will do her best to make sure your necklace is finished in class.


Supply List:
• jewelry pliers (without teeth) round, chain, and flat nose
 • wire cutters • 5 feet wire for each gauge: 18, 20, 22, 24 round;
18 gauge square wire (available only in sterling silver or gold) 
• chain: 9-12 inches large (4-10mm) and 6 inches of small (2mm) chain
• optional: patina solution, files, steel bench block and chasing hammer
Please note:
Wire suggestions, gauges and length: Sterling silver dead soft and gold can be found at thunderbirdsupply.com. Annealed steel, brass, copper or galvanized steel can be found at local hardware stores.  Bronze wire can be found at cooltools.us 
Avoid bringing craft wire from a craft store. It’s too weak.

Join Colleen Moody in creating one of her signature art pieces, with this Victorian Cabinet Card Doll. You will learn to marry the old with the new... a vintage cabinet card, flowers, Dresden trim, and ribbons will be used to decorate and embellish this lovely wall hanging. Colleen will share her tips and techniques for sculpting a small doll and bring her to life through paint and aging. You will finish her off by hand sewing a wonderful little dress, for your newest little friend.

We are please to host artist Colleen Moody, who has brought The Littlest Witch and a sweet Pumpkin Girl out to play in time for Halloween. Dream of flouncy skirts and splendor as you create your choice of these Halloween friends. You will sculpt, paint, craze, and then hand sew your way to creating either of these sweet little spirits. In this class Colleen will show you how to make a small doll and then bring her to life by painting and aging her. You will then design and hand sew her attire. We think these are the perfect treats for the coming holiday season!

Victorian Childhood Memories Theater

Join artist Iva Wilcox as she leads you in creating this lovely Victorian-inspired wall theater, perfect for holding personal keepsakes and memories.  You will create this demure lady's crepe paper outer dress, featuring a pink inner skirt. The skirt then houses a reproduction vintage image inside. Fill this lovely theater with bits and pieces from your personal collection, creating a one-of-a-kind art piece. The Victorian image is from Iva's personal collection; a true keepsake. This theater stands approx. 18" tall, and can be hung or stand on it's own.

Construct a bracelet cuff with wire, pearls, azure beads and sparkling jewels.  Learn about design and composition as we unravel the divine order of adornment in all its entire splendor and free form wire work. Of course if mermaids are not your "thing", by all means select another theme. The excellent selection that Gilding the Lily has to offer allows for infinite creativity, so go and select! "Fingerlings" Bracelet

Join artist Sid Hanner as she creates the magic that is this extraordinary bracelet composed of many tiny gemstone rings. Sid returns to her true love, copper, to make this bracelet of copper chaining, clasp, and multiple copper pipe rings wire wrapped with dozens of tiny beads, gems, and pearls. The effect is stunning.
Learn the techniques for cutting and finishing copper pipe, soldering, and wire wrapping during this workshop. You will make several of the rings during class, mastering the techniques for this project, and can continue to add to your bracelet after you leave this wonderful workshop with one of our favorite artists.

We are thrilled to welcome Becky Wimbs to our family of teachers here at Gilding the Lily. For her first class, Becky brings her signature "Barefoot Becky" fabric doll to us, and invites you to join her in creating your own little lady. Becky has been creating these dolls for the past 20 years, after studying under Eleanor Peace Bailey in Northern California. Over the years the dolls detail, and size (approx 18") has evolved into the little miss you see today. This workshop includes two full days of class, with a bit of homework to be done on your own. Don't delay in signing up for this workshop, as space is extremely limited!
