Step into Spring with this adorable soldered Bell Jar created by Artist Robin Dudley-Howe. In this soldering workshop Robin will guide you as you kick up your soldering skills to the next level. You'll begin by dressing and painting your antique Charlotte Doll in festive spring attire, including a tiara fit for a princess! Robin will teach the dynamics of attaching soldered, 3-D pieces, millinery, and word tiles to make a tree topper of sorts. You will finish it all off by adding a patina and additional embellishments. The class fee generously includes all materials needed!

Take a handful of mixed media and learn to solder, drill, and punch it with Artist Robin Dudley-Howe. Robin will teach you to make this stunning, show-stopper of a charm bracelet as you learn techniques like soldering, hammering words onto metal, punching and drilling coins, dice, plastic, as well as cutting metal, and basic wire wrapping. This is a process oriented class... in other words, depending on your skill level, you may or may not complete this bracelet in class. As always Robin will teach you all you need to know to finish and continue adding to this delightful treasure at home. All supplies are provided except for your basic jeweler's tool kit.

My Christmas Book of Memories

Come join us for a day full of Christmas fun as we create an altered book to hold your cherished holiday photos. We will begin by recycling a discarded library book and add to it new pages embellished with all the treasures we love to collect and use; paper, vintage tags and card, millinery bits, trim, crepe paper, and more! You'll each get a kit filled with over 50 items. You bring copies of personal photos, and any special trimmings you'd like to use in your own book. We will complete our book base as well as the cover, as well as starting the first 12 pages, of the 36 pages included.

Cindy Gonzales is back with us to teach the 3rd in a series of Crowns & Tiaras, this time featuring an Old Fashioned Christmas scene on another of her life size crowns. Cindy has recreated a charming Christmas village reminiscent of days gone by. A winter scene complete with a vintage home as it's center piece, Christmas tree, jingle bells, and Santa in his sleigh as he flies through the night sky make this sure to become a family favorite! Once again Cindy will provide almost everything needed to complete this stunning crown. This workshop features assemblage, collage, vintage millinery, crepe paper, and much more. Join us in ringing in the holidays as we create these darling, homespun Christmas ornaments while we enjoy a cup of cheer with our family of friends here at Gilding the Lily. We are thrilled to have resident artist Cindy Gonzales back to teach these Victorian Christmas Ornaments. These stand approx 5 inches tall, and  would be darling created with your favorite family photos. As always, Cindy will provided a kit full of everything you'll need including two antique candle clips, vintage images, trims, embellishments and more. Join designer and artist Cindy Gonzales for the second in her Crowns and Tiaras Series. We are happy to have Cindy back sharing the next of her fabulous crowns this one created in shades of pink, creme, and black. This workshop features metal work, collage, and various mixed media elements. These are Cindy's unique design and created by her completely from scratch. Cindy will lead you through the structure of the crown base, and onto embellishing your own one-of-a-kind tiara. Though originally created as an art piece, it is life size should you decide to indulge your inner Blue Blood!

Baby Doll Necklace ~ Circa 1860

We are thrilled to have one of our most popular teachers return with an all new necklace for fall. Robin Dudley-Howes is back teaching her Baby Doll Necklace featuring an antique German doll. Robin's fascination with these miniature dolls has led to yet another eclectic mixed media necklace contrasting vintage with contemporary.  In this project you will learn innovative wire shaping techniques, hammering, clasps, problem solving and sturdy wire construction with out using a torch! These techniques will elevate your future jewelry projects into new territory.  As always Robin will do her best to make sure your necklace is finished in class.


Supply List:
• jewelry pliers (without teeth) round, chain, and flat nose
 • wire cutters • 5 feet wire for each gauge: 18, 20, 22, 24 round;
18 gauge square wire (available only in sterling silver or gold) 
• chain: 9-12 inches large (4-10mm) and 6 inches of small (2mm) chain
• optional: patina solution, files, steel bench block and chasing hammer
Please note:
Wire suggestions, gauges and length: Sterling silver dead soft and gold can be found at thunderbirdsupply.com. Annealed steel, brass, copper or galvanized steel can be found at local hardware stores.  Bronze wire can be found at cooltools.us

You will finish her off by hand sewing a wonderful little dress, for your newest little friend.

We are please to host artist Colleen Moody, who has brought The Littlest Witch and a sweet Pumpkin Girl out to play in time for Halloween. Dream of flouncy skirts and splendor as you create your choice of these Halloween friends. You will sculpt, paint, craze, and then hand sew your way to creating either of these sweet little spirits. In this class Colleen will show you how to make a small doll and then bring her to life by painting and aging her. You will then design and hand sew her attire. We think these are the perfect treats for the coming holiday season!

Victorian Childhood Memories Theater

Join artist Iva Wilcox as she leads you in creating this lovely Victorian-inspired wall theater, perfect for holding personal keepsakes and memories.  You will create this demure lady's crepe paper outer dress, featuring a pink inner skirt. The skirt then houses a reproduction vintage image inside. Fill this lovely theater with bits and pieces from your personal collection, creating a one-of-a-kind art piece. The Victorian image is from Iva's personal collection; a true keepsake. This theater stands approx. 18" tall, and can be hung or stand on it's own.

Construct a bracelet cuff with wire, pearls, azure beads and sparkling jewels.  Learn about design and composition as we unravel the divine order of adornment in all its entire splendor and free form wire work. "Fingerlings" Bracelet

Join artist Sid Hanner as she creates the magic that is this extraordinary bracelet composed of many tiny gemstone rings. Sid returns to her true love, copper, to make this bracelet of copper chaining, clasp, and multiple copper pipe rings wire wrapped with dozens of tiny beads, gems, and pearls. The effect is stunning.
Learn the techniques for cutting and finishing copper pipe, soldering, and wire wrapping during this workshop. You will make several of the rings during class, mastering the techniques for this project, and can continue to add to your bracelet after you leave this wonderful workshop with one of our favorite artists.
