Let Freedon Ring ~ Spun Cotton Doll

Sue Smith, Instructor
Saturday, June 18, 2011, 10:30-2:30p
Class Fee: $75.00

We are happy to welcome local artist Sue Smith to our family of new teachers! Sue is an accomplished artist with a focus on Spun Cotton dolls housed in embellished cases and dressed to impress. Sue brings us her patriotic Let Freedom Ring spun cotton doll as her first project here at Gilding The Lily. Sue will share with you how to create spun cotton dolls from raw materials, and then move onto creating your own embellished wooden case. Though the project is finished in a patriotic theme fitting for the season, you might chose to create with a different color palette or theme all together. Either way the choice is yours as these are easily adapted to suite your personal taste and style.
Sue has graciously supplied a generous kit including doll, case, and embellishments!

La Cage Aux Doll

Susan Bates-Bezek, Instructor
Saturday, July 16, 2011, 10:00-4:00p
Class Fee: $85.00

We are excited to introduce you to our newest teacher and talented Artist Susan Bates-Bezek!
As an experienced mixed media teacher traveling the country for the past several years, we feel lucky to have her with us. After meeting Susan a few months ago as a student in another of our classes, we were thrilled when Susan agreed to teach a class herself. The result is her stunning La Cage Aux Doll, an all new class she's offering for the first time anywhere.

We hope you'll welcome Susan by joining her as she takes you step-by-step in creating your own unique La Cage Aux Doll. Reminiscent of an antique, but using mixed media, a new technique or two, and a little magic you will create a one-of-a-kind cage doll. Standing 22 inches tall, and following Susan's easy techniques in assembly, with a head of your choosing this striking figure will earn a proud place in your home.
