During WWI and WWII as one of many home-front efforts to support our soldiers, Americans knitted items to be send to the front. Many still do this today! In a charming reversal British Solders created beaded pincushions during WWI and sent them home to mothers, wives, or sweethearts. After Nancy uncovered a box of these stunning treasures, Dede and Connie set about creating their own. We hope you'll join us as we learn the history, materials, designs and more in recreating our own Sweetheart Pin Cushion. Dede and Connie will have a huge stash for you to pull your materials from and all the supplies you need. Just bring a small sewing kit and come create with us in the company of friends on Brookdale.
